For this lesson we focus on the country of Burkina Faso.
Do you know where this country is? We will also discuss subsidies and tariffs.
Subsidies:
- money given to farmers ( in HICs) by the government to grow crops.
What is the most heavily subsidized good in the USA?
Tariffs:
- a tax placed on an imported item.
The tax makes the price of the imported item higher for consumers so they choose to buy local products instead.
